We’re delighted to have three all new songs on their way, which will be launched termly throughout 2019! Next years commissions come from award-winning UK composers and writers. Each composer has spent time at Snape Maltings developing their song, hoping to bring a touch of Suffolk to schools around the country:
Paul Sartin treats us with a reworking of a folksong from field recordings made in Snape and Blaxhall; Cecilia McDowall is working with poet Kate Wakeling to write a song about the pull and mystery of shadows; and John Barber sets a poem by Christina Rossetti with assistance from students at Eyke Primary School.
We're so excited to release all of these songs in 2019 and hope to hear lots of you singing them.
